Opportunity as Sybase Devlopment Lead in Singapore with An Investment bank.
Sybase Developer Team management – leading development work performed by the Singapore satellite team, reporting to the global development lead in London..
Ability to provide accurate estimates of work
Ability to collaborate with other teams and ability to proactively handle change in requirement, support and QA issues
Under the guidance of a Development Manager, work directly with allocated Project Managers, Business Analysts and external IT and business teams to implement change requests and new features
Provide leadership to Singapore-based resources
Provide support for the existing systems where required
Develop close relationship with the business and BAs
Assist in and drive production support including investigation\resolution of production issues
Learn existing legacy application to facilitate BAU activities
Sybase\Unix\Java Development – As a team lead, responsible for design, development and delivery
Design and implement new functionality
Write code to implement business logic
Write and amend stored procedures in the Sybase/SQL Server databases
Core skills are Sybase, Unix. secondary skills Java, Oracle, Informatica, and Perl
Participate in all aspects of the project lifecycle, following stringent rules and procedures for testing and promoting code in compliance with company change control processes
Utilize standards, architectures, and processes to ensure that all code and development practices conform to company guidelines and industry best practices
Singapore Client interaction and point of contact
Ability to quickly grasp BAU issues, understand client concerns and manage and communicate expectations
UAT\Test Environment management – Co-ordination of setting up environments
Ability to comprehend parameters which cause differences in a given environment
Ability to identify client confidential data implications in environment preparations
